KFC wants to open 21 new restaurants in Wales in these locations

There's exciting news on the horizon for fans of KFC: it has announced ambitious expansion plans for the UK.

The fast food giant has selected 536 locations where bosses are hoping to open either drive-thru venues, food court counters or restaurants.

The chain currently operates 850 outlets across the UK - with more than two dozen in Wales alone.

And that number may nearly double in the coming years.

A spokesman for the company said: "We have bold ambitions to have over 1,000 stores in the UK and Ireland by 2020 and we are looking to build over 50 new stores a year."

These are the 21 locations in Wales where the chain hopes to open its doors:
