KFC wants to open 14 new restaurants in Merseyside

Fast food giant KFC has revealed it wants to open 14 new restaurants and drive thrus in Merseyside .

Among the locations are Kirkby , Belle Vale and Formby, as well as a new outlet on Scotland Road, which would join the already growing number of restaurants coming to the area.

The planned expansion is part of a nationwide drive to increase KFC’s footprint in the UK - though the chain does have around 850 venues in the UK already.

A spokesperson for KFC told BusinessLive : “We have bold ambitions to have over 1,000 stores in the UK and Ireland by 2020 and we are looking to build over 50 new stores a year."
