KFC reopened in Newcastle today as the chicken chain kicks on with its plan to resume trading across the UK.
KFC's branch in Shields Road, Byker, Newcastle, is open for delivery and drive-thru customers.
KFC's website initially stated both the Byker and Cowgate KFCs would resume trading today, but the Cowgate branch was not accepting orders as of Wednesday afternoon, although it looked close to reopening and staff were on the premises.
Byker KFC will trade from midday to 9pm, Monday to Sunday. Delivery can be ordered online through Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat.
Earlier this month, KFC reopened branches elsewhere in the UK, for delivery and drive-thru customers only, with strict social distancing measures in place for staff.
KFC says: "We are doing this responsibly and carefully, with stringent processes and hygiene measures put in place. All our restaurants will continue serving a limited menu to help the smaller kitchen teams maintain social distancing."
Rivals McDonald's, Subway and Greggs have also revealed plans to reopen since closing the coronavirus lockdown.
