Shocking footage shows the moment masked men raid a KFC armed with a knife and what appears to be a sword.
The two men enter the fast-food chain wielding the weapons, before jumping over the counter to break open a till.
One of the thieves is seen grabbing wads of cash from the till point, while the second thief waves a sword at terrified members of staff.
After a just few minutes, the robbers flee the KFC chain at the Meteor Centre in Derby.
The crime happened on October 27 at around 10:30pm.
Police have released the footage in an attempt to appeal for any information related to the robbers.
Detective Constable Steph Marshall said: “I understand that the two suspects have their faces covered but I am asking for help from anyone that may recognise anything about the two people in the footage, perhaps clothing or the way they are walking or acting.
“Although over in minutes, the incident was very frightening for the staff and so I urge anyone with any information to make contact with me.”
