Kentucky Fried Chicken have unveiled plans for a massive expansion in the Bristol area - with new restaurants and drive-thrus proposed in 18 ‘target locations’.
KFC want to open new branches from Swindon to Taunton, with several of those in and around Bristol.
The KFC website states it has ‘bold ambitions’ to up the number of its branches to more than 1,000 by the end of next year, and Bristol is among those that could well be seeing more KFCs than before.
At present, KFC has 14 branches in Bristol and the immediate area around, at Weston-super-Mare, Gordano Services, two at Cribbs Causeway, two in the city centre, one at Eastgate, another in Filton, one in Bradley Stoke, at Keynsham, next to Ashton Gate, at Hengrove, at Avonmeads, and in Fishponds.
On KFC’s wishlist in the Bristol area includes plans for a drive-thru KFC in Avonmouth, a drive-thru in Eastgate in Bristol, where it already has a small restaurant, a drive-thru in the Clevedon and Portishead area and in the Emersons Green area on the east side of Bristol and another at Longwell Green, in Midsomer Norton and in Yate.

A KFC Spokesperson said about the plans for Clevedon: “We love the excitement. No news on this one yet, but for locals with those all too familiar chicken cravings… take a peek on our website to find the nearest KFC.”
