KFC reveals new rules as they reopen more restaurants

KFC has revealed how they are reopening their restaurants around the UK.

In a tweet posted on Friday afternoon, the fried chicken chain revealed they had hit a milestone of 700 restaurants in the UK and Ireland reopening.

And they laid out the rules they are setting for their stores so customers can come and pick up a Mighty Bucket or Zinger Burger.

The first of these includes perspex screens at counters to protect customers and staff. Staff will also be seen to be wearing gloves and face masks as appropriate. Staff have been given access to 'non-medical grade face masks and gloves.'

Two metres guidelines will be marked on the floors of restaurants you are able to go into to order takeaway, to ensure social distancing, but customers will not be allowed to eat their meals at the restaurant.

Some restaurants will have a limit on how many people will be allowed in at any one time, and the menu will also be limited to keep kitchen teams small and ensure food is prepared safely.

Customers are also being asked to pay by contactless if they can.

Any deliveries or drive-thru orders will be contact-free, and delivery drivers and customers will be kept separate in restaurants.

Restaurant opening hours have also been reduced so they can run with as fewer members of staff as possible.

KFC added in their tweet: "Ultimately the wellbeing of our guests and teams remains the most important thing - so if we can’t reopen a restaurant responsibly, we won’t."
