KFC opens 55 more drive thrus across the UK - but urges people not to use them

Over the past few weeks, chicken giant KFC has gradually been reopening stores.

On Monday, 100 of the fast food chain's restaurants in the UK were open to the public, with some of them operating a drive thru service.

However, KFC has now made the decision to open 55 of its drive thrus, in a bid to make it easier for NHS and key workers to get food if they're not able to order a home delivery.

Posting on Twitter, KFC said: "We've been working hard to responsibly reopen our restaurants and now we're spreading our wings a little further.

"In line with government advice, we've decided to open the drive-thru lanes at 55 of our UK restaurants that are already open for delivery."

KFC is, however, urging customers to order online if they can and avoid making any unnecessary journeys.

The chicken chain said: "We know it's tempting, but please, don't all rush at once!

"Delivery remains the best way to get your fried chicken fix - we just want to offer a little more choice to those who are already on the road for essential journeys or on their way home from difficult shifts."

Order food from home where you can, and leave the drive thrus clear for NHS and key workers to get themselves some chicken while fighting for the UK's frontline.
