KFC obsessed Scots block entire lane of Inverness dual carriageway for chicken takeaway

Scores of people have caused huge tailbacks in Inverness after KFC opened its drive-thru for the first time since lockdown.

Drivers could be seen lined along Millburn Road in the Highland capital to get their fast food order during the coronavirus pandemic.

A video posted on social media at around 6.40pm yesterday showed the queue to the restaurant, with cars lining up en masse as people look to get their chicken fix.

It comes after the fast-food giant reopened drive-thru facilities at 55 of its UK branches as the firm seeks to slowly get operations back to normal.

An onlooking passenger in the opposite lane, who posted the clip, said in the video: “Well, this is what happens when KFC opens up again. F***ing ridiculous.

“It’s queued up all the way along, f***ing numpties.”

KFC was among the non-essential shops, bars and restaurants ordered to close doors as the country went into full lockdown on March 23.

KFC confirmed the reopening in a statement which said: “We're reopening in a responsible way, this means we'll be serving a limited menu to help the smaller kitchen teams maintain social distance.

“If you’re not near one of our open restaurants, never fear.

“We’re working hard to reopen more over the coming weeks.”
