KFC issues important update on fried chicken availability

KFC has given an update on its restaurants across the UK and Ireland as the coronavirus outbreak continues to shut down public places.

Customers will be relieved to know that there’s no chicken shortages but seating areas will be closed in all restaurants.

The only way people can get their fried chicken fix is via drive-thru, takeaway or home delivery for the foreseeable future.

In a statement the chain says: “Our guests and our teams are top priority, so we’re doing everything we can to keep them safe. We’re a restaurant business, so stringent handwashing and hygiene is absolutely essential for us already - but we’ve stepped this up during the outbreak”.

They also add: “Please don’t call the police if you’re missing fried chicken… it’s not 2018!”.

KFC has confirmed its increased regularity of cleaning and sanitising key areas of its restaurants and are recommending customers use contactless payment methods.

Plus the chain is also working with its delivery drivers to further reduce contact between customers and riders during home delivery service.

They’ve also confirmed that staff members are asked not to come into the restaurant if they or anyone in their household have any symptoms to keep fellow staff and customers safe.
