KFC explain why some stores are opening and others are not

KFC has confirmed that 100 of its restaurants are re-opening in May.

This morning (April 29) the chain announced the select stores that will be opening its doors across the UK for delivery from Monday, May 4.

However some customers were disappointed to find out that their local restaurants were not included on the list.

KFC confirmed on Twitter why certain restaurants were opening over others: "At this stage we're deciding which restaurants to reopen based on boring operational reasons, not geography.

"I appreciate it's frustrating not seeing your local open yet (trust me, I do.) but hang on in there!".

The fast food chain has also confirmed that there will be stringent processes and hygiene measures in place, with a limited menu to help smaller kitchen teams maintain social distancing.

They're also continuing to donate and deliver 10,000 meals a week to NHS and key workers once the restaurants re-open.

Customers can find out if their local restaurant is one of those re-opening by visiting the website, or delivery partners Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

For those who's local restaurant is missing, KFC say they're 'working hard to reopen more over the coming weeks'.
