KFC drive-thru opens in Belfast as fast-food fans flock to Boucher Road site

Fans of KFC showed their appreciation for their favourite finger-lickin' food when a drive-thru opened again in Belfast.

KFC has issued a statement over reopening restaurants in Northern Ireland.

The fast food giant closed all branches across the UK and Ireland in March amid the  Coronavirus pandemic.

KFC has now confirmed it will look at each restaurant on a "case-by-case basis" to explore what reopening might look like.

In Northern Ireland, KFC has all of their 33 restaurants closed.

The company announced earlier this week that 100 more stores will be opening for delivery across the UK by May 4.

However, none of those restaurants reopening include stores here in Northern Ireland.

A spokesperson for KFC said: "We're reopening our restaurants carefully and looking at them on a case by case basis, including those in Northern Ireland.

"The wellbeing of our teams and customers comes first though – so if we can't reopen responsibly, we won't at all."
