KFC has been slammed for reportedly serving fried chicken with the animal's feathers still attached.
The horrified customer shared the images appearing to show feathers poking through the outside of the coating of her KFC.
The incident happened when the Blackpool mum used Uber Eats to order a delivery from a branch in Blackpool.
She snapped images of the hot wing, saying that her young son said that the feathers looked like small legs dangling from the piece of chicken.
On closer inspection, she said she found three "large feathers" which had seemingly been coated and fried along with the rest of the food, Lancs Live reports.
The anonymous woman said: “I have received an apology, refund and also been told that in no circumstances should I have been sent that food.
“KFC should not (be) giving this to a customer, surely it’s not good food hygiene to leave feathers attached if that’s what they are.”
She later revealed that the refund had come from Uber Eats, not KFC, and that she had only received around half of her money back - £8.19.
“I won’t ever eat KFC again,” she said. “Because I ordered from Uber Eats I only got a partial refund just for the meal even though the lot was wasted.
“When I went to KFC the manager just came over to my car in the car park and he couldn’t give me a refund as I had ordered from Uber.”
The images split opinion on social media, with many agreeing with the customer's concerns, while others said they were "only feathers".
A KFC spokesperson said: "Feathers can happen when dealing with fresh chicken – they’re harmless, but it goes without saying they shouldn’t be there.
"It doesn’t meet the Colonel’s usual high standards, and it’s certainly not the reunion we want people to have with their favourite fried chicken after some time apart!
"We’re sorry we missed them, so we’d like to invite the customer to get in touch with us and we will make things right."
