KFC apologises to Scots town after incredible advert cluck-up

KFC bosses have apologised to the good people of Kilmarnock after an almighty cluck-up.

Fried chicken chiefs held up their claws after spelling the town's name wrong on a social media advert issued this week.

The fowl-play saw Kilmarnock rebranded as "Kilmarnoch" on the Facebook ad and left a big bit of egg on the colonel's coupon.

And the with the yolk well and truly on Mr Sanders, KFC did offer an eggs-planation and apology this evening and said they'd be updating the ad.

A KFC spokesperson: “Oops! Wish we could blame autocorrect for this one – we’re really sorry to our fans in Kilmarnock, this was a mistake and we’re currently updating our ad.”

Customers on social media also kindly pointed out the error too.

The gaffe emerges weeks after we revealed the Queen's Drive KFC branch was undergoing a radical overhaul.

In May this year, East Ayrshire Council rubber-stamped proposals for the fast food joint to build a new dry store and toilets after planners saw no major issues with the makeover.

Blueprints at the time stated that the extension will be at the south-west side of the building where the drive-thru menu currently resides.

The layout of the drive-thru itself has also changed with the new lane hugging the perimeter of the site to allow for more cars to queue at the takeaway.
