A Glasgow key worker has penned a heartfelt letter to an Airbnb host after using the property free of charge during lockdown.
The key worker, who wishes to remain anonymous, wanted to broadcast their appreciation to the "kind soul" who owns the stunning property in the west end.
The owner, named Jane, offered the flat for free after learning that the key worker needed a place to stay during lockdown, to avoid potentially bringing coronavirus home and infecting their mum.
The emotional letter reads: "The nation is thanking our key workers. I want to thank our kind-hearted people who have contributed to making people's lives that little bit easier through these scary, unprecedented times.
"To Jane, I cannot put into words how grateful I am for you allowing me to live in your wonderful property through lockdown.
"My anxiety was through the roof and I was having sleepless nights at the thought of continuing to work and bringing the virus home to my mum.
"When I contacted you on Glasgow Airbnb, I was overwhelmed with your reply. You told me that I could stay for as long as I needed to, you wouldn't accept any money from myself and that I was to make myself feel at home.
"Jane - not all heroes wear capes/uniforms. I hope to one day return the favour, although we have never met, I know you are an extremely kind soul and the world is a better and brighter place with you in it.
"When the time comes that we can all start moving/ travelling again, I will be back for a holiday in your Glasgow Airbnb, it really is a home away from home. Thank you - a Glasgow key worker."
