Major plans for 600 homes near Nottingham's Boots HQ

Plans for more than 600 houses near Nottingham's Boots headquarters are taking another step forward as developers seek further permissions from councils. The modular homes, pre-constructed at a factory before being installed on site, will be developed by Ilke Homes near the site on Thane Road.

The plans within the Alliance Boots Campus form part of the 286-acre Nottingham Enterprise Zone. Proposals are made up of 207 homes that fall within Nottingham City Council's jurisdiction, with a further 397 falling under Broxtowe Borough Council.

GraceMachin Planning and Property, which has been working on plans on behalf of Ilke Homes, has now submitted reserved matters planning applications to both councils. Reserved matters are parts of a planned development which are not approved initially, and are instead 'reserved' for a later date.

The latest applications cover the layout and external appearance of the buildings, the materials that will be used and means of access. Boots UK previously said: "We are delighted to partner with Ilke Homes to develop this site to provide high-quality, affordable and energy-efficient housing for people in the local area.

"Because of the historical significance of this site and everything it represents in terms of our company heritage it was vital that we find the right partner." East Midlands Chamber chief executive Scott Knowles previously said the development would "complement the key employment sites" such as as the nearby Lenton Lane Industrial Estate, as well as Boots itself.
