Key reason why Leeds United could complete cut-price Rodrigo transfer from Valencia

It could be a busy few weeks for Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United.

There is just a matter of weeks left until the Whites are in Premier League action as they take on reigning Champions Liverpool at Anfield.

Ahead of that game, the Whites will be looking to add to their squad in the transfer window.

A number of names have been linked with a move to Elland Road including Said Benrahma, Ollie Watkins, and Ben White.

Another player linked in recent days is Valencia forward Rodrigo.

The Daily Mail claim that the Whites have been in contact with the Spanish club over the 29-year-old and are considering an offer for the striker.

Any potential deal for the Spain international may be aided with the financial situation that his current club find themselves in.

The Coronavirus pandemic has plunged the Spanish club into financial difficulty, leading to them having to let players go in order to recoup some money.

Both Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin have already left the club due to them being among the biggest earners.

Star man Ferran Torres has also been sold to Man City this window in order to try and raise some more cash, with the club earning £25 million from the sale.

The financial problems have even led to players not being paid, with the club reported to have offered to pay the wages back at a later date.

They are said to be asking for a price of around £30 million for Rodrigo, but could be forced to accept a lower offer should things not improve.

The forward scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions for Valencia last season.
