Key Reading player aims to use this 'advantage' against Nottingham Forest

Reading defender Michael Morrison believes the Royals hold an “advantage” going into their clash against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds resume their Sky Bet Championship campaign against the Royals on Wednesday night, with the clash rearranged after the original fixture in October was postponed due to a waterlogged City Ground pitch.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are in fifth place in the table after their 3-1 win over Luton Town on Sunday, and are five points outside the automatic promotion places with their game in hand.

Reading suffered a 2-0 defeat to Millwall in their last match on Saturday, while they were held to a dramatic 1-1 draw with Forest the week before.

Morrison says Reading have the “advantage” of having one more day than Forest to prepare for Wednesday’s game, and is confident the Royals can get a result at the City Ground.

"The games are coming thick and fast," Morrison told the club’s website.

He added: "We've got the game on Wednesday, then the cup, then Bristol after that. That's the Championship, you've got to dust yourself down and be ready to go again.

"We've got a little bit of an advantage because Forest played on Sunday, hopefully we can use that and go into the game to try and win.

"We've had some tough games recently, especially away from home. Millwall was a tough day, but we've gone and got points from Preston and Fulham.

"We'll fancy ourselves on any day, as long as we all put in that commitment that we always do, especially recently. We've got quality, and against Millwall it probably didn't shine through as much as we'd like, but I'm sure it will on Wednesday.

"It was a great turnout from our fans at the weekend, they filled that top end and it was really pleasing. Unfortunately, we couldn't give them the three points.

"I know it's a bit of a corner position at Forest for them, but hopefully we can get some goals in that corner and get close to the fans."
