Key Nottingham Forest player reveals what Sabri Lamouchi is like behind the scenes

Nottingham Forest are enjoying a successful season in manager Sabri Lamouchi’s first season in charge.

The Frenchman replaced Martin O’Neill in the City Ground dugout in the summer, and has so far guided the Reds to fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Forest take on Leeds United on Saturday in their next league fixture, with both clubs battling for promotion to the Premier League.

Lamouchi has taken charge of 34 Reds matches in all competitions since his appointment, winning 16 of them, drawing nine as well as losing nine.

Forest star Matty Cash, who has been converted into a more than competent right-back under Lamouchi, has praised the impact the Frenchman has had since his arrival on Trentside.

“Everyone listens to him,” Cash told The Football League Paper.

“He stands there, talks and you think ‘wow’.

“He knows what he’s on about and in training we do the same drills every day. You can see that on the pitch we’re solid. We look compact from back to front.”

So, what is the secret behind Lamouchi’s success at the City Ground?

“In training, we go in and work hard,” explained Cash. “He doesn’t let anyone slack. Even when we’re winning games, he’s on at everyone. He’s on at me, telling me what to do.

“We all need it to keep us on our toes and hopefully we’ll get where we want to be.”
