Key Nottingham Forest figure confirms City Ground exit

Departing Chief Commercial Officer David Cook has sent a message to Nottingham Forest fans and staff confirming his departure from the City Ground.

Cook, who spent more than four years at Forest and was also chairman of Nottingham Forest Women, is set to return to Scotland and has been linked with the chief executive’s role at Scottish Championship outfit Dunfermline Athletic.

He joined Forest from Etihad Airways in July 2017 and has also worked at Everton and Celtic.

Cook took to social media to announce the news, posting: “After 5 seasons with NFFC I’m moving on. I’m confident I leave the club in better shape than when I joined back in 2017.

“Record sponsorships, record season ticket sales, huge attendances, massive revenue growth in ticketing, hospitality, sponsorship and retail plus the reintegration of Forest Women in to the club.

“To finish with 4000 supporters at the NFWFC vs MCWFC game was fitting. Next stop... back to where the love affair with football began!”

Dunfermline are owned by German consortium DAFC Fussball Gmbh and chairman Ross Mcarther is expected to step down at the end of the season.

If Cook joins he will be doing so at a time wen the club are in the process of moving to a new training ground.

Cook leaves Forest with Steve Cooper’s side in eight place, just two point outside the play-offs.
