Leeds United bans looming for key Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool players in daunting run

Four Leeds United players are now walking the suspension tightrope after Sunday's 2-2 draw with Brentford, but some of their key opponents in the coming weeks also took a step in the wrong direction.

The rules say players must serve a one-match ban if they accumulate five yellow cards in or before the 19th league match of the season.

That is Liverpool at Anfield for the Whites. Liam Cooper and Rodrigo were the only two watching their step before last weekend, but Raphinha and Tyler Roberts are also on card-watch now.

If they can avoid one more caution before full-time on Merseyside, they will be clear until the 10-card bans expire after the Watford game in April.

Chelsea host Leeds this weekend, but Marcos Alonso is their most cautioned player on three yellows. There is no more time for Alonso to reach five before the Whites clash.

Manchester City have one game against Wolverhampton Wanderers before Marcelo Bielsa visits later this month, providing one more window for Joao Cancelo to add to his four yellows.

Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga is on four yellows and has every chance of missing the Leeds game, though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will back himself to avoid a ban on three yellows right now.

The Gunners will play Southampton and West Ham United before visiting West Yorkshire a week on Saturday.

Liverpool have another three league games to play before Leeds arrive on Merseyside, so Andrew Robertson and Fabinho have every chance on finding their fifth yellows before United get there.

They are two critical players though and big misses if they were to pick up those fifth cautions in the game before the Whites at Tottenham Hotspur.

Aston Villa are the first side Leeds will face after the bans reset, but a fifth yellow in their 19th game will mean they miss the meeting with the Whites.

Matty Cash, John McGinn and Tyrone Mings are all on four yellows now and could conceivably serve their ban long before they visit West Yorkshire.

Douglas Luiz and Marvelous Nakamba are on three yellows and have more than enough time to reach five before the Leeds game.
