Key Leeds man out of play-off semi; Bolton go into administration; Forest release experienced duo; Lampard bites back - latest Championship news

Points deduction for relegated Bolton

Relegated Bolton Wanderers have gone into administration and will have a 12-point deduction at the start of their League One campaign.

They have been given two weeks to appoint an administrator after the High Court appearance last week over an unpaid £1.2m tax bill.

Bolton said they hope the appointment of administrators "will ensure the continued existence of the club".

They become the first team to enter administration since Aldershot Town in 2013.

Forest release two

Nottingham Forest have announced their retained list, with two senior players heading out of the club.

Northern Ireland striker Jamie Ward and goalkeeper Stephen Henderson have left the club.

Ward's career at the City Ground has been hampered by injury. The 33-year-old started the season on-loan at Charlton.

Henderson, 31, hadn't played for Forest since 2017.

Roofe out of play-off semi

Kemar Roofe has been ruled out of Leeds United's play-off semi-final second-leg against Derby County.

The striker scored the only goal in the first leg but has sustained a calf injury.

Midfielder Adam Forshaw has also been ruled out while centre-back Pontus Jansson is a doubt, as is Derby forward Martyn Waghorn.

Lampard fires back at Leeds fans

Frank Lampard has fired back at Leeds fans' new chant about this season's 'Spygate' scandal.

Sky Sports reports that they sang a new chant to the Oasis classic 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out', as Leeds won the Championship play-off semi-final first leg 1-0 over Lampard's side at Pride Park.

Asked if he was affected by the chant, Lampard's retort was: "No, of course not, it is good fun.

"As a Chelsea player, there was a rivalry always with Leeds. We didn't play them that much because we were in the Premier League, but that comes with it."
