'Key issue' - The weakness Nottingham Forest will aim to exploit as Barnsley prepare for survival fight

Barnsley manager Gerhard Struber admits a lack of goals is costing his side as they prepare to fight for their lives against Nottingham Forest.

The Tykes are bottom of the Championship ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Reds - but they still have a chance of securing survival.

It means there is a lot resting on the match at Oakwell at both ends of the table, with Forest aiming to make sure of a top six spot.

Barnsley were beaten 1-0 on Thursday night as Leeds United edged closer to automatic promotion with a nervy victory.

But Struber says his players will not go down easily.

"Performance-wise it went very well, especially in the second half," he said of the game against the Whites.

"But the killer thing is to score goals and that's the key issue at the moment.

"I'm very proud of my players for this performance, but in our situation we need to pick up points.

"It's a young group and many players will never give up.

"We will keep going and in these last two games we still have a chance to stay in the league."

His opposite number, Marcelo Bielsa, said after Leeds’ win - courtesy of Michael Sollbauer’s own goal - that claiming the Championship title was now the aim for his men.

They are five points clear of second-placed West Bromwich Albion with two games left.

The gap to third-placed Brentford is six points and if they and the Baggies both fail to win at the weekend, Leeds will go up as champions before their next match at Derby County on Sunday.

When asked if promotion was the only objective or if he wanted to win the title, the Argentinian said smiling: "This question has only one answer."

"We are not yet promoted and until we can resolve this problem mathematically, we cannot talk about this," he added.
