Key figure leaves Monaco and will 'quickly' join Nottingham Forest - report

Former AS Monaco official Louis Ducruet is reportedly set to link up with Nottingham Forest.

The 27-year-old, who is the son of Princess Stephanie of Monaco, is said to be in line for a key role at the City Ground and fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos.

Ducruet left Monaco last week after five years with the Ligue 1 team, where he had worked in the sales department, the recruitment unit and as assistant to vice-president Oleg Petrov.

He posted on Instagram that he was headed for “a new adventure, a new challenge, which will allow me to acquire more experience”.

And reports have suggested that could be as part of the behind the scenes structure at the Reds and Olympiacos.

Eurosport say he could quickly link up with Forest’s head of international recruitment Jose Anigo and technical director Francois Modesto.

They say: “According to various sources close to the club (Monaco), Louis Ducruet should quickly find the former Monegasque Francois Modesto as well as the former sports director of Marseille, Jose Anigo, and work for the structure which manages the clubs of Olympiakos Piraeus, in Greece, and Nottingham Forest in England.”

Announcing his departure from Monaco, Ducruet - 15th in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne - wrote: “It’s with a lot of emotions that I announce you today my departure from the AS Monaco football club.

“It’s time for a new adventure, a new challenge, which will allow me to acquire more experience.

“Thank you to the club for these unforgettable moments, the exceptional journey in the Champions league but also the title of Champion of France in 2017.

“Thank you for this wonderful experience with admirable and competent people.

“Finally, thank you to all the supporters for these moments that we shared together.

“AS Monaco is a big club with great supporters.”
