Key fashion trends of the season: Women's T-shirts
During the sale period we search longingly for something new to wear, this week designer print T-shirts are taking over our wardrobes. Here's the pick of the best. Top of the list is artist Gary Hume's designs for Marni. £437, Marni, 26 Sloane Sreet, London SW1 (0207 245 9520). This season he has opted for a vivid iris print on vests and T-shirts, all in the softest cotton you could wish to wear. We whole heartily recommend them having worn our yawning gorilla one forever..Vest, £175, Christopher Kane from harveynichols.comPhotograph: GuardianWe are big fans of this graphic print with it's necklace like pattern. Tuck it in to a black skirt or wear with skinny jeans for an effortless look. T-shirt, £110, Sass and Bide from harveynichols.comPhotograph: Guardian
Our inner magpie was taken by this jewel embellished tulle print T-shirt. The evening tee is a relative new-comer to our wardrobes but is earning it's stripes fast. Vest, £155, Alexander Mcqueen from net-a-porter.comPhotograph: GuardianNext summer is set to be the season of the tattoo. It's true, Louis Vuitton said so, and if Louis V decree it then it shall come to pass. However if permanent ink is not your thing (it's not ours, this desk has a low pain threshhold ) we suggest this 'true love' tat inspired vest. Pain free. Vest, £60, Alice by Temperley from Net-a-porter.comPhotograph: GuardianEveryone's favourite Swedish design house Acne are finally in UK. Cue much excitement from the fashion desk and huge dents in our overdrafts as their London outpost opens this week. If you can't make it to Dover Street, shame on you, make amends by ordering this optical llusion Tee online. Wear this T-shirt either with jeans or dress it up under a blazer with tailored shorts. T-shirt, £102.68, mytheresa.comPhotograph: GuardianA melancholy nostalgia rushes in when we see a picture of a young River Phoenix. His face represents growing up for a generation, It's all coming back, the cherry flavour Pez, never having friends like we did when we were 12, is there any one who hasn't seen Stand by Me? No wonder these T-shirts sold-out first time. Fortunately they are on re-order. T-shirt, £50, Alpha60 from asos.com and liberty.co.ukPhotograph: GuardianLove this, Love it, LOVE IT!
