Justin Reid, the architect of Adelaide's rebuild, has quit as the club's list manager to join the AFL.

Reid, who had held the role at Adelaide since 2015, has departed to become the AFL's head of football performance, list management and engagement.

"He was instrumental in our ambitious rebuild of the men's playing list and he should reflect on his work with pride," Adelaide's executive general manager of football, Adam Kelly, said in a statement.

"These changes took patience and discipline and Justin's commitment to the strategy did not waver.

"We hope that he can continue to enjoy our journey from afar with some satisfaction, knowing he played a critical role in putting our list in a really strong position.

"The opportunity at the AFL is a significant one and Justin is well qualified, we wish him every success with it going forward."

Reid and the Crows undertook a substantial rebuild of the playing list when Matthew Nicks arrived as coach in 2020.

After missing the finals from then until last season, the Crows returned to the playoffs in 2025 when they finished minor premiers but tumbled out of the finals with consecutive losses.
