Kew Gardens stabbing: Man in hospital after attack near London attraction

A man has been stabbed close to the world famous Kew Gardens in London.

Police were called to Royal Parade, in the Kew area, west London, just before 8am on Sunday following reports of a knife attack.

The victim, who is in his 50s, was taken to hospital after being stabbed near to the popular tourist attraction.

A police cordon is in place at the scene, which is just five minutes' walk from the entrance of the botanical gardens.

The investigation is being conducted by Richmond CID.

A spokesman for the Met Police said no arrests had been made and that enquiries were ongoing;

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.

The Met Police team for Kew tweeted on Sunday afternoon: “Police were called to Royal Parade, Kew at 0754hrs to reports of a male having been stabbed.

“He is being treated in hospital for injuries not thought to be life threatening.”
