Kevon Looney signs a two-year deal with ANTA

Postseason heroics endeared Kevon Looney to the Golden State Warriors decision-makers. His reward: a three-year $15 million contract in free agency. But offers from shoe companies did not immediately follow. However, trying on teammate Klay Thompson’s size 15 ANTAs won him over; Looney also wears size 15 and found the shoes comfortable.

“The most important thing about a shoe is comfortability, and also being able to last throughout the game and take care of your feet,” Looney told NBC Sports Bay Area. “I feel ANTA does the best job of that.

When I got a chance to wear Klay’s shoes, it was dope. I’ve been watching his growth. I told him I believe I can wear them better than he can.

Perhaps the whirlwind activities of China Klay influenced his decision somewhat, too. “Everybody talks about ‘China Klay,’ and now I get to be a part of the ANTA family,” he said.

But Looney wants to look fly, too, and the colorways will help his gameday drip.

“I like to wear crazy colorways,” Looney said. “And ANTA has been doing a great job with new colors and creating funky designs. … I saw all the design options they had, and I was ready to sign up.”

Will #ChinaLoon work for everyone?
