Kevin Webster's sister is back on Coronation Street with some big news after 34 years

Kevin Webster's sister Debbie is set to return to Coronation Street next week - after 34 years.

Debbie, played by actress Sue Devaney, was last seen on the cobbles as a cafe worker in 1985.

Sue, 52, also played Rita Briggs in the 1980s children's TV drama Jonny Briggs, paramedic Liz Harker in Casualty and Jane in the Victoria Wood comedy Dinnerladies - reports the Manchester Evening News.

Debbie left Weatherfield when her dad Bill married Elaine Prior and they moved to Southampton.

But now she's back with some shocking news for Kevin - who has experienced a lot of drama since his sister was last seen in Weatherfield.

His marriage to Sally ended after both of them had affairs and she's now happily married to window cleaner and taxi driver Tim Metcalfe, who gets along well with Kevin.

However father-of-three Kevin, who has two daughters Sophie and Rosie with Sally and a son Jack with the late Molly Dobbs who died in the 2010 tram crash, is single and trying to get back on the dating scene.

The mechanic is disappointed when his old friend Martine fails to show up for a date - and when Debbie then calls at the garage looking for him, his colleague Abi Franklin mistakes her for Martine and gives her a mouthful for standing Kevin up.

Then Debbie breaks the news to Kevin that their Auntie Vi has died and has left her £200k - and he's gobsmacked when she says she wants him to have the money.

*Coronation Street continues at 7:30pm on ITV tonight
