Kevin Thomson sets Rangers tongues wagging as Kelty Hearts boss sends cryptic message amid Ibrox manager hunt

Former Rangers star Kevin Thomson has set social media ablaze by hinting he could be set for a reunion with his former team.

The Kelty Hearts boss is turning heads with the League Two leaders but started his coaching career within the Ibrox youth set-up.

He penned an emotional farewell to departed boss Steven Gerrard last week after his departure for Aston Villa.

And now Rangers fans are convinced Thomson is in line for an emotional return as a coach after he posted a picture of him in Light Blue accompanied with a handshake emoji.

It comes with Ross Wilson and the Ibrox board working hard to secure their next boss with Gio van Bronckhorst the hot favourite to succeed Gerrard.

Thomson is highly regarded and the 37-year-old has Kelty leading the way for promotion in their first season the Scottish football pyramid.

The former Hibs man has previously worked for Rangers TV, with his commentary earning rave reviews from punters who appreciate his views on the game.

Rangers face Hibs in the semi final of the Premier Sports Cup on Sunday and the new man could be in place for a the Hampden blockbuster.
