Shoppers scrambled to get their hands on Kevin the Carrot cuddly toys at Aldi supermarkets across the UK and Ireland today.
Huge queues were reported in stores up and down the country as families woke up early to get their hands on the toys, with some reports of "actual scrapping".
The company’s festive advert sees the beloved Christmas character return for a third year running. His popularity has led Aldi to describe him as "just a humble carrot who stole the nation's heart".
This year’s campaign also introduces new character Pascal the Parsnip, who is determined to cause misery to Kevin, his wife Katie and their three children Chantenay, Baby Carrot and Jasper.
Shoppers from up and down the country took to Twitter as Kevin-related toys flew off supermarket shelves.
One person wrote she needed her "shin pads" as she joined the mad dash.
Another person posted a photo of a trolley filled with huge Kevin the Carrot cuddly toys alongside the comment: "Not being funny but I need this."
One chuffed mother added: “This is my 6 year old nephew Logan, who is absolutely CRAZY about #KevinTheCarrot
“So crazy about him, that he dresses like him for school & insists we all call him Kevin.
“1st in the queue this morning for a large Kevin & a storybook! One very happy little boy!”
In this year's advert Kevin overcomes "another Christmas adventure" as he and his family take on the nefarious Pascal.
