Police are investigating three new allegations of sexual assault against Kevin Spacey.

Scotland Yard now have six open investigations against the Oscar-winning actor, two into sexual assault and one of assault.

The latest allegations were made between February and April, the incidents taking place in London and Gloucester.

On 8 February a man alleged to have been sexually assaulted in Lambeth in 2008 (Spacey was artistic director of the Old Vic theatre, Lambeth, between 2004 and 2015).

Another man came forward 14 February, claiming he had been sexually assaulted in Gloucester in 2013. The third allegation was made 14 April and dates back to 1996. The incident allegedly occurred in Westminster.

Police have not identified Spacey as the suspect. They have confirmed that officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are investigating all six allegations.

Spacey has faced over 30 accounts of sexual assault, the first from actor Anthony Rapp in Novemeber last year. The Star Trek actor alleges Spacey made a sexual advance on him in 1986 – when Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Spacey, now 58, previously claimed to have no memory of the encounter but apologised for any “inappropriate drunken behaviour”.

Further claims were made, the actor eventually being sacked by Netflix series House Of Cards. Ridley Scott then made the unprecedented move of re-shooting Spacey’s All The Money In The World scenes with Christopher Plummer in the role of J. Paul Getty (Plummer was later nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work).

Spacey has previously denied claims of sexual assault. The actor’s representatives have been contacted for comment by The Independent
