Kevin O'Leary Offers Passionate Take on U.S. Immigration Law: 'Sheer Insanity'

Mr. Wonderful has strong feelings about the current immigration situation in the United States.

Kevin O'Leary, the Shark Tank investor, recently appeared on Fox Business to discuss President Biden's comments regarding the "chaotic" situation unraveling at the U.S. southern border now that Title 42 is no longer in effect. Because the Federal coronavirus restrictions have been lifted, an in-pouring of asylum-seekers from other countries is expected.

When asked about Biden's most recent statements regarding the border, O'Leary did not mince words.

"Well, this narrative on immigration is actually turning into a presidential race issue," he says. "There's no question about it, these images [are coming] from the border almost daily now."

He briefly mentions the accompanying debate surrounding asylum funding before looking at it from a different angle.

"There's another narrative that's emerging," he tells Fox Business. "We allow foreigners to come here and go to colleges and give them PhDs in the most advanced sciences in the world (where we are leaders)."

"We kicked them out of the country afterward," he continues, "and they go to their native countries where they didn't want to return (including China) and develop technologies that compete with us. That is sheer insanity."

O'Leary's passionate declaration that "immigration law is going to have to be a bipartisan event" is certainly shared by many. It's worth pointing out, as one commenter did, that PhDs are earned by these hard-working immigrants, not given out.

But O'Leary's words really rang true for one aerospace engineering graduate whose "department was composed 80% of international students [who were] DESPERATELY looking to stay and work in the U.S."
