Kevin Nisbet waits on first Scotland start as he joins Craig Gordon on the bench v Luxembourg

Kevin Nisbet is still waiting on his first Scotland start after being left on the bench against Luxembourg.

The Hibs striker netted his first goal for his country after coming in the midweek 2-2 draw with the Netherlands.

Many had tipped him to make his full debut after finding the net, but Steve Clarke has gone with a front pairing of Lyndon Dykes and Che Adams in the final friendly before the Euro 2020 campaign kicks off next a week tomorrow.

The Hibees top scorer will have to hope he’s given another second half cameo if he wants to add to his goal tally.

Given Adams missed the Dutch friendly after being forced to stay in Spain following John Fleck’s positive Covid rest, it’s understandable that Clarke is keen to give the Southampton hit man some more game time in dark blue.

A second successive start for Dykes is more surprising given Nisbet ’s impact on Wednesday but patience is likely to be a virtue for him this summer given he’s third in the pecking order.

Hearts ‘keeper Craig Gordo n also drops to the bench after David Marshall was reinstated between the sticks.

Clarke insists he’s yet to decide which of the two goalkeepers will get the nod for the tournament opener although did hint that Gordon could be handed the gloves after admitting he wasn’t set on a certain team based on past performances.

Scotland: Marshall; Gallagher, Hanley, Tierney; O’Donnell, McTominay, McGregor, McGinn, Robertson; Adams, Dykes

Subs: Gordon, McLaughlin, Taylor, Armstrong, Turnbull, Nisbet, Fraser, Patterson, Gilmour, Hendry, Forrest, McKenna.
