Kevin Nisbet hands in Hibs transfer request as he appeals over Birmingham City move

Frustrated Kevin Nisbet has submitted a transfer request to Hibs.

The on-form Premiership striker has been the subject of several failed big-money bids from Birmingham City.

The English Championship side had their latest £2.6million bid thrown out yesterday.

Boss Jack Ross has already said he now expects the frontman to be at Easter Road for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old is unhappy with the way the entire transfer saga has been handled.

A source close to the player said: “Kevin was perfectly happy at the club last week.

“He was aware there was a bid in from Birmingham but that didn’t change anything for Kevin.  "He was happy and enjoying his football.

“It was then made clear to him that the club could sell him if a bid was to get to a certain level.

"Kevin is unhappy with the way the situation has been handled.

“He feels he has now been backed into a transfer and has been left with no option but to ask for a transfer.”

Nisbet was left out of the weekend win over Dundee United, along with Ryan Porteous who was a target for Millwall.

The striker has been one of Scotland’s top strikers this season, since he made his £200,000 switch from Dunfermline in the summer.
