Kevin Nisbet transfer news as Brentford 'target' Hibs star as Ivan Toney replacement

Brentford have joined the race to sign Hibs star Kevin Nisbet this summer, according to a report.

The frontman has impressed since making the step up to the Premiership from the Championship, and was subject of bids from Birmingham in January.

And now the Sun report that Brentford could look to bring him to England in the summer if Ivan Toney leaves the club.

The London outfit expect a number of bids for the former Celtic target, with fees of upwards of £30million expected.

They missed out on automatic promotion to the English Premier League, and are unlikely to be able to keep him if they fail to get up through the playoffs.

It means Hibs will need to be braced for bids for their own striker, with Brentford looking to sign him as a replacement.

Jack Ross’ side will be desperate to keep him but a big money offer from Brentford could force their hands.

Speaking earlier this year, Easter Road chief Ron Gordon insisted they wouldn’t have to sell unless it was a fee they couldn’t afford to turn down.

He said: “I think that maybe one, maybe two could have the opportunity to move this summer.

“I don't think we should undervalue our players, I won't consider us just as a selling club.”
