Kevin Nisbet transfer latest as Birmingham's third big-money bid knocked back by Hibs

Hibs have knocked back a fresh £2.6 million bid from Birmingham City for Kevin Nisbet.

The English Championship side, who have signed Sam Cosgrove from Aberdeen for £2 million, have had two bids turned down since Saturday, with the first bid offer starting at £2.25 million.

The Blues upped the ante with another offer that could have eventually gone through the £2.6 mark, with add-ons.

It now looks extremely unlikely that Birmingham will go in again, unless there is a change of stance from the Easter Road club.

Sources close to Hibs believe that if they hold on then Nisbet could possibly net them a future, club record transfer fee.

They signed him from Dunfermline in the summer for a deal just short of £200,000.

American owner Ron Gordon is not pushing to sell either, despite big bids for Nisbet and for Porteous from Millwall.

Boss Jack Ross said after the weekend win over Dundee United that he didn’t expect either to now leave before the deadline.

Ross left Porteous and Nisbet on the bench for the Tannadice win.

Meanwhile, Hibs midfielder Stevie Mallan is set to join Yeni Malatyaspor on-loan.

Record Sport revealed the move last week and the switch should be completed today.

The deal had looked to have collapsed last week but is not back on.

The midfielder is now set to try his luck in the Turkish Super League.
