Kevin Nisbet to Celtic deal rubbished by Hibs boss Jack Ross as he brands rumours 'nonsense'

Jack Ross insists rumours of a swap deal between Celtic and Hibs for Kevin Nisbet and Leigh Griffiths are 'nonsense'.

The Hibs boss revealed the only way the suggestions that deal could be true is if the hierarchy at Easter Road aren't telling him what's happening.

And that's how he knows it's 'nonsense' and he insists it's made up and won't be happening before the end of this transfer window in 10 days time.

Nisbet was missing from the Hibs squad as they faced Dundee in the Premiership but Ross revealed he was ill and they had known for a few days that he wouldn't be involved.

But he was in disbelief at the claim there was a transfer deal being done and reckons Nisbet will remain as a Hibs player in the coming weeks.

He said: "I was surprised to hear about it yesterday, because unless people at the club aren't telling me things - which I don't imagine is the case - then it's nonsense, really.

"It just shows how something can be created and people can run with it.

"As far as we're concerned there's absolutely no truth in it."
