Kevin Nisbet set for second Dundee United bid as Dunfermline throw out opening offer

Dundee United are considering a second bid for Kevin Nisbet – after Dunfermline Athletic threw out their opening £250,000 bid.

The Premiership new boys tabled the offer on Tuesday which also included add ons, but was turned down by the Pars as they held out for more cash.

The frontman has also held talks with Dunfermline Athletic chairman Ross McArthur in recent days about the situation.

United were likely to make a second bid for the 23-year-old but have been side-tracked after being dragged into Hearts and Partick Thistle’s joint legal challenge against the SPFL.

Nisbet has also been linked with English sides Portsmouth and Shrewsbury but he is keen to play in the Premiership, where Hibs are also keen but they are working under desperate financial restrictions.

The problem Dunfermline have is that their prize asset is out of contract next summer and they could lose for nothing this time next year.
