Kevin Nisbet reveals the Hibs goal target he's praying will seal Euro 2020 place

Kevin Nisbet is targeting a 20-goal haul as he aims to secure a place in Scotland's Euro 2020 squad.

The Hibs striker has netted 16 for Jack Ross' side so far this term and earned a first call-up for recent World Cup qualifying clashes.

But Nisbet knows consistency is key in ensuring he remains in boss Steve Clarke's thoughts.

The 24-year-old opened up on the jump in standards after he rubbed shoulders with Premier League stars during a maiden foray into international football.

And he wants to make a statement the Scotland boss cannot ignore as the domestic season draws to a close with Hibs in Scottish Cup and European football contention.

He said: “There are a few games left so I’d say 20 is probably a realistic target. Since I came back from international duty I’ve felt fresh and sharp. I’m just trying to put in performances to keep myself in the mind of Steve Clarke for the Euros.

“It was good experience going away with Scotland. It was an eye-opener on what the next level could be. It makes me want to get to that next level but I need to perform and finish the season well with Hibs.

“I handled myself well in the Scotland set-up and had some good feedback. It’s a better standard, you need to think quicker and you need to be sharper. So it’s down to me to get back into that setup. I just need to keep going here and see where it takes me.

“If I keep putting performances in then if I get picked I get picked and if I don’t then it’s just the way it goes.”
