Kevin Nisbet on Brentford's transfer list as Hibs striker is lined up as Ivan Toney replacement

Brentford have reportedly joined the race to sign Kevin Nisbet.

The Hibs striker is the club’s top scorer in his first season in the Premiership after signing from Dunfermline last summer.

And the Scottish Sun claims the English Championship promotion hopefuls have the Scotland international on their summer transfer list.

Nisbet has 17 goals in all competitions this season ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup semi-final showdown at Hampden, although sat out last weekend’s home defeat to St Johnstone.

Birmingham launched a £3million raid to sign the former Partick Thistle youngster on transfer deadline day in January, which prompted the player to hand in a transfer request.

But now Championship rivals Brentford are thought to be watching him closely ahead of a potential swoop.

Star man at Griffin Park Ivan Toney tops the goal charts after Celtic turned down the chances to sign him last summer, but he could be set for a big money move to the Premier League regardless of whether Brentford secure promotion or not.

He’s been linked with a switch to the likes of Champions League-chasing West Ham, who could pay up to £35million to tempt him across London.

And the Bees have Nisbet on a list of potential replacements if Toney does leave before the start of next season.

Hibs owner Ron Gordon admitted that the club maye have to sell “one or two” of their star names this summer to offset losses this season.

That could well be Nisbet, although teammates Ryan Porteous and Josh Doig have also been attracting interest from down south.

Nisbet is holding out hope of being included in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for Euro 2020, so he could be in for a busy couple of months if the interest in him intensifies.
