Hibs star Kevin Nisbet is missing for the trip to Dundee amid fresh links with Celtic.
The Hoops are on the lookout for a new striker this summer and are believed to be in talks over VVV-Venlo's Georgios Giakoumakis.
However, Scotland cap Nisbet has been touted as a target throughout the year and has previously put in a transfer request at Hibs in the hope of securing a switch to Birmingham City.
Reports surfaced on Saturday after broadcaster Peter Martin claimed the Celtic wanted to offer Leigh Griffiths plus cash to bring Nisbet to Celtic Park.
Now, Jack Ross has left the 24-year-old out of the squad for the Premiership trip to Dens Park - adding fuel to the speculation.
But Hibs later confirmed Nisbet was absent due to illness.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou refused to rule out the prospect of signing the attacker this summer following the victory over St Mirren on Saturday.
When asked about Nisbet, he said: "I ain't quashing, or denying or confirming, y'know.
"I was really happy to talk about Josip today because I'd been sitting on the fence with one, I don't like sitting on the fence.
"I prefer to talk about the ones we have done, there is still some work we're doing off the field, hopefully we will be able to make some announcements in the next few days."
