Kevin Nisbet inspires Hibs to Scottish Cup final

Kevin Nisbet scored one and played his part in the other as Hibernian sealed their place in the Scottish Cup final with a comfortable 2-0 win over Dundee United.

The Cambuslang man grabbed the opener with a composed finish from outside the box after 27 minutes at Hampden and the Scotland striker produced a clever back heel that allowed Martin Boyle to play in Christian Doidge for the clincher after 58 minutes.

Replays showed Doidge's goal was offside, but Hibs won't care as they have set up a shot at their second Scottish Cup win in five years when they face either St Johnstone or St Mirren - who play tomorrow - in the final on May 22.

It was Nisbet's 18th goal of the season and will have done his chances of making the cut for Steve Clarke's Scotland squad at the Euros this summer the world of good, netting for the fourth time in his last five games.

The former Trinity High School pupil won his first cap for his country in March in the 4-1 win over Faroe Islands is now a step closer to earning his first piece of silverware in senior football.
