Kevin Nisbet Hibs transfer 'contact' made by Krasnodar with Spartak Moscow also keen

Kevin Nisbet is on Spartak Moscow’s transfer wish list with Krasnodar also reportedly interested in the Hibs striker.

New Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is thought to be an admirer of Nisbet and has been linked with a move for the Scotland striker.

But he’s likely to face competition from Russia and England if he wants to land him.

Reports in the Russian media claim the capital club are keen on the former Dunfermline striker with league rivals Krasnodar having already tried to sound out the 24-year-old’s representative.

Nisbet’s agent, Nicholas Nicholson, is quoted as admitting interest from Krasnodar has been there for several months: “Krasnodar is really interested in Kevin. They first got in touch a few months ago, and since then we have been in touch.

"He also likes Spartak Moscow. They got in touch, we talked.”

Hibs rejected a £3million January transfer deadline day bid from Birmingham City for Nisbet, who topped the club scoring charts with 18 goals last season.

His form saw him make his Scotland debut and he was called up to Steve Clarke’s squad for Euro 2020.

That coupled with increased interest from the UK and abroad could see the Hibees scoop significantly more than they turned down just five months ago.

He wouldn’t be the first Hibs goalscorer to head to Russia from the Scottish Premiership either. Garry O’Connor made a £1.6million move to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006.

But despite a good start initially, O’Connor returned to the UK, ironically with Birmingham City, before eventually finding his way back to Hibs.
