Kevin Nisbet earns Scotland call as Hibs star is included in first squad

Hibs star Kevin Nisbet has been included in the Scotland squad for the first time to continue his impressive season at the club.

The striker is part of Steve Clarke's squad for games against Austria, Israel and Faroe Islands later this month.

He’s joined by Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon as the only two players from the capital clubs to be named in the squad.

Nisbet has never been capped at any level with Scotland but now has the opportunity to force himself into the team ahead of the European Championships.

The 24-year-old has 14 goals in 36 appearances this season and scored his first since January in Hibs' 2-1 win over Ross County at the weekend.

Former Hearts goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin is also in the squad, despite not playing for Rangers since the Europa League win over Lech Poznan in December.

He’s made 11 appearances for the Ibrox men but has been unable to displace Allan McGregor.

FULL SQUAD: Craig Gordon, David Marshall, Jon McLaughlin, Andy Considine, Declan Gallagher, Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, Scot McKenna, Stephen O’Donnell, Liam Palmer, Andy Robertson, Greg Taylor, Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie, John Fleck, Ryan Jack, John McGinn, Callum McGregor, Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay, Che Adams, Lyndon Dykes, Ryan Fraser, Oli McBurnie
