Kevin Nisbet Celtic transfer links labelled 'nonsense' by Jack Ross after striker misses out

Jack Ross has dismissed reports that Kevin Nisbet could leave Hibernian for Celtic in a swap deal involving Leigh Griffiths.

The Cambuslang man was omitted from the Easter Road side's squad for the Premiership clash against Dundee and that led to speculation that he was set to leave.

PLZ pundit Peter Martin suggested that Celtic were interested in trading former Hibee favourite Griffiths plus cash to secure the signature of Nisbet.

The Scotland international played with Celtic at youth level but he was released before joining Partick Thistle.

However, Hibs boss Ross rubbished suggestions that the 24-year-old is posed to leave the club before kick-off against Dundee.

He said: "I was surprised to hear about it yesterday, because unless people at the club aren't telling me things - which I don't imagine is the case - then it's nonsense, really.

"It just shows how something can be created and people can run with it.

"As far as we're concerned there's absolutely no truth in it."
