Dundee United have tabled a £250,000 plus bid for Kevin Nisbet.
United have made an opening offer for Dunfermline’s top scorer and the Premiership new boys are pushing to get a deal done for the striker who netted 23 goals last season.
Cash-strapped Hibs are also interested in the frontman but are unlikely to get anywhere near the levels that United are already at.
United boss Robbie Neilson has already confirmed that Nisbet is one of his top summer targets.
Dunfermline chairman Ross McArthur has already made it clear that he won’t sell his prize asset on the cheap.
The issue for Dunfermline is that the forward is going into the last year of his contract.
Therefore, if they don’t sell him this summer his value will decrease and they could lose him for nothing this time next year.
It depends if the Fifers want to take the cash after they released 19 out of contract players at the end of the season.
