Kevin Nisbet backs Hibs to win Scottish Cup after ending semi-final hoodoo

Kevin Nisbet has spoken of his relief after Hibs ended their semi-final hoodoo in the Scottish Cup - and now reckons his side will go all the way to lift the trophy.

The Scotland striker scored the opener and had a hand in Christian Doidge's clincher in the 2-0 win over Dundee United to seal their return to Hampden for the final on May 22.

It put an end to the Leith side's last four woes in recent years, where they lost semi-finals in the League Cup to Celtic in 2018 and St Johnstone this season.

And Nisbet told Premier Sports: "It was a bit of relief.

"The past semi-finals we were down 1-0 in both, so it's a massive relief.

"It's up to us to go and win it now.

"It's a monkey off our back for the last four or five years.

"We've had a lot of semi-finals and lost, but we are in the final now and we are delighted.

"It was incredible. I thought the game plan went well."

The Hibees will face either St Mirren or St Johnstone in the final on May 22 and Nisbet believes whoever it is that comes through tomorrow's other tie, his side will prevail.

He added: "We'll take anybody, on the day it's down to us.

"If we play well then I think we go and win it."
