Kevin Mirallas has distanced himself from rumours linking him with a move away from Everton in January, claiming he is happy at Goodison Park and is not looking for a move over the summer.
The Belgium international was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in January after an impressive start to the season, potentially as part of a swap deal involving Aaron Lennon, and has gone on to score 11 goals in all competitions this season.
In February he was quoted as saying: “I like it over here, but I feel ready for a new challenge. I dream of playing in the Champions League next season,” but the 27-year-old has changed his tune somewhat, adding that he believes he has had his season to date at Goodison.
“At the start of the season I was very happy with my form. I had come back from injury and started the season really, really well and people speaking about me wanting to leave has never come from me,” he told the club’s website. “When you have a good start to the season and you are playing well, people are maybe showing a bit of an interest in you.
“But the supporters can rest assured that it never came from me and I never said I wanted to leave. I have always been happy here at this club, my family are happy where we are so it is a shame when stuff gets said and it isn’t me who said it.
“In spite of the noises that were being made in January where people were talking about a supposed departure, and putting that to one side, how I have felt and played, and taking away the injuries, it is the best I have felt.”
