Kevin Love says he was ‘acting like a 13-year-old’ during on-court outburst

NBA fans have been speculating over a Kevin Love trade all season with the 31-year-old five-time All-Star stuck on an incredibly young Cavaliers team with no chance to compete for a playoff spot, and it appears that Love may be losing his patience in Cleveland.

Just before the New Year, Love was caught raging on the sideline during a game against the Toronto Raptors. With the Cavaliers down big, Love asked to be taken out of the game at one point due to his frustration.

A few days later in a home game against the Thunder, Love lost it on teammate Collin Sexton, who failed to recognize a mismatch and feed Love the ball. Love was being guarded by Chris Paul in the paint and had his arms up to get Sexton’s attention, but the guard continued to dribble the clock down. Furious, Love walked out to half-court, demanded the ball and rifled a pass across the court.

It was also reported that Love had a disagreement with Cavs GM Koby Altman before the game. On Tuesday, Love addressed the incidents, and said he was acting like a “13-year-old.”

“I wasn’t acting like a 31-year-old; I was acting like a 13-year-old. That was not me.”
