Browns cornerback Kevin Johnson has been one of the most impressive players in Berea through the first five days of training camp. The veteran slot corner has been very active in coverage and a positive, stabilizing force in the secondary.
Now he’s in Cleveland’ University Hospital with a terribly fluky and potentially quite dangerous injury.
Johnson suffered a lacerated liver during Wednesday’s practice session. He wound up in a pile of players and somehow suffered the abdominal injury. He will remain in the hospital for at least another night.

Johnson’s career has been ravaged with injuries. It’s a disappointing setback to one of the real bright spots of the summer in Berea.
